Marine engineering and electrical, electronic and control engineering

On operational level this covers the knowledge and skills related to the following main tasks of the boatman:

• The boatman should be able to assist the management of the craft in marine, electrical, electronic, and control engineering to ensure general technical safety.
• The boatman should be able to perform maintenance work on marine, electrical, electronic and control engineering equipment to ensure general technical safety.

On management level this covers the knowledge and skills related to the following main tasks of the boatmaster:

• The boatmaster should be able to plan the workflow of marine engineering and electrical, electronic and control engineering.
• The boatmaster should be able to monitor the main engines and auxiliary machinery and equipment.
• The boatmaster should be able to plan and give instructions in relation to the pump and the pump control system of the craft.
• The boatmaster should be able to organise the safe use and application, maintenance and repair of the electro-technical devices of the craft.
• The boatmaster should be able to control the safe maintenance and repair of technical devices.
