End conference COMPETING – 14 June 2022

Join the final conference of COMPETING on the 14th of June in Rotterdam!

Register now for the end conference COMPETING via: https://lnkd.in/e3brmziX.

We would like to invite you for the final conference of COMPETING, with the theme ‘a big step forward in Inland Navigation Education and Training’.This conference takes place at STC Group in Rotterdam and will simultaneously be held online.

A quality line-up of international experts will address the outcomes of the COMPETING project from different perspectives and also celebrate the European cooperation in the field of inland waterway transport education and training.

A consortium of eleven European inland navigation educational institutions and four social partners joined forces to work hard on the seven competency areas and its accompanying teaching materials, like course manuals and a European Training Record Book, both at operational and management level. The project has also yielded a well thought-off quality assurance system.

After three and a half years of hard work, the end conference will be the place to be for those who would like to get up to speed with the end results, including the products which make this Erasmus+ Sector Skills Alliance project all the more interesting.

We plan to host a physical meeting at the headquarter of STC Group in Rotterdam, supported by live stream facilities.

Online seminar COMPETING

All inland waterway navigation schools and training institutes please pay attention! We would like to invite you to the first online seminar about the outcomes of project COMPETING. During this seminar we will explain how to adapt or adopt the new and harmonised inland navigation educational material.

The last three years a consortium of various European Inland navigation educational institutions and social partners joined forces to work on seven competencies and the accompanying teaching materials, both at operational and management level. The competencies include navigation, ship operation, cargo handling, stowage and passenger transport, maritime engineering and electrical, electronical and control engineering, maintenance and repair, communication and health, and safety and environmental protection.

In the coming months we are organising several online seminars to inform you about the developed educational material and to guide you on how you can adapt or adopt it.

This event is especially relevant for those who are responsible for the curricula or lesson content at inland navigation schools and training institutions.
